Certificate of Insurance
A document issued by an insurance carrier or broker that provides evidence of coverage, including the policy type, limits, effective dates, and named insured. Law firms frequently need to provide certificates of insurance to clients, landlords, courts for pro hac vice applications, and referral networks. A certificate is informational only and does not alter the terms of the underlying policy.
